Day 3: Tuesday May 27 - Black Canyon National Park - South Rim
Headed to Black Canyon for day of hiking and sight seeing. Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park is named for the dark appearance of its canyon walls, which are often shrouded in shadow and appear black due to the steepness and narrowness of the canyon.
On one of our hikes, the person in front of us warned us of a snake on the trail. Margie's reaction: Oh Boy! It turned out to be a non poisonous bull snake.
Variety of flowers in the canyon.
Other views from various look outs.
Margie hiked the Werner Point Trail from the high point view point. It was about 1.5 miles out and back with about a 500 foot difference in elevation. I went about halfway.
Ended the day at Sunset View and then some star gazing.
