Day 1: Sunday May 25 - Arrival
Finally made it to Colorado at 3am on Monday. What was supposed to be a short plane ride from Dickinson, ND to Denver turned into a 7 hour delay.

Day 3: Tuesday May 27 - Black Canyon National Park - South Rim
Headed to Black Canyon for day of hiking and sight seeing. Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park is named for the dark appearance of its canyon walls, which are often shrouded in shadow and appear black due to the steepness and narrowness of the canyon. On one of our hikes, the person in front of us warned us of a snake on the trail. Margie's reaction: Oh Boy! It turned out to be a non poisonous bull snake. This looks like a chipmunk but it's really a squirrel. His stripes don't go past its ears. Variety of flowers in the canyon. Lots of beautiful views Had a picnic lunch at the end of the East Portal Road. It was a six mile continuous down hill. East Portal Road. Steepest road in Colorado at 16%.
